WI-SUN ALLIANCE APPOINTS BOB HEILE AS DIRECTOR OF STANDARDS
Wi-SUN Strengthens Resources to help accelerate adoption in key strategic markets
MORGAN HILL, CA. –June 8, 2015 – The Wi-SUN Alliance today announced that Bob Heile has joined the organization as Director of Standards with the mission of advancing the global adoption of Wi-SUN’s interoperable wireless solutions using IEEE 802.15.4 and related standards. Dr. Heile brings over 30 years’ experience to the Wi-SUN Alliance, in the field of wireless data communications, the Internet of Things (IoT), and in the building of global industry alliances. Dr. Heile is the Chair of IEEE 802.15, the Chair of IEEE 2030.5 on Smart Energy, Co-Chair of the IEEE 2030 SmartGrid Guide Communications Task Force, and a founding and still active member of IEEE 802.11. Until recently he also served as Chairman and CEO of the ZigBee Alliance.
